Reading and Homework for for October 17, 2012 class

Question 1  Some important things to identify when assessing the audience's capabilites would be: whether or not they had a computer; what bandwidth do they have; how big are their monitors; what browsers do they use; do they still connect with modums; what is their screen size resolution; what percentage has the latest RealPlayer plug-installed.  Some new capabities would be: do they use mobile devices, and which ones; do they use tablets.

Question 2  Scope creep is the slow, inevitable migration of a website redesign from a straightforward, comprehensible project to an out-of-control nightmare.  It happens when modification and unplanned extra time doing extra things lead to budgetary increases and time delays.

Question 3  Microsoft Project   It is not recommended for clients because most people won't understand it.

Question 4  Gant chart is spelled Gantt chart

Question 5  Useability testing cannot be done using an online survey.  This is because in useability testing, the tester observes another person as they actually use the site and complete tasks.  It shows what site visitors actually do not what they think they might do
